Hygga - (Cozy in Danish)
Welcome to a truly joyful, whimsical and COZY place! From the vibrant buildings and delicious ice cream to the mouthwatering baked goods, the friendly locals make Copenhagen an unforgettable experience!
I highly recommend traveling with or without kids. In this post, I'll focus on our delightful trip with children. After conducting extensive research, I compiled a long list of fun activities, including both tourist attractions and local gems tailored for families. Our goal is to immerse ourselves in our trips while enjoying a balanced mix of activities.

So, what did we do…
goMonkey - an amazing outdoor climbing park with multiple locations. There is a location in Copenhagen. We visited the one in Gladsaxe- short drive from Copenhagen but can easily be reached by public transit! We drove and took public transit. There is free parking. Our kids enjoyed this so much we ended up visiting twice! Pro tip: Book in advance!
Changing of the Guards - Every day from 11:30 AM to 12 PM. The Danish Royal Guard march from Rosenborg Castle to Amalienborg Palace where the Changing of the Guard ceremony takes place. We positioned ourselves at Amalienborg Palace for a fantastic view. They walk around the circle, so if you can't see them initially, don’t worry—you’ll have another chance! This happened to us, and we ended up with a great view! Much easier to see than our experience in London :)
Nhavn a must see for the Copenhagen experience! A great place to grab an icecream, drinks, and food. This is also where we took a Boat Tour -which was a wonderful relaxing way to see the city and learn some cool history facts! Also this was a perfect rest for our tired feet after walking the city all day!
Experimentarium - The most interactive and engaging children’s museum I’ve ever visited. We had to practically drag our kids (and ourselves) out after spending 5 hours there!
Parks - Don't miss the Traffic Park, a fun place for kids to learn about road safety!
Malmö, Sweden - A quick trip to explore! We took a quick drive one day and had a wonderful time exploring Malmohus castle. This is an eclectic mix of history, aquarium, and art museum. Children have free admission and the cost for my husband and I was less than $10 USD total! There was a cute foodhall very close as well where we got to try Kanelbullar (Swedish Cinnamon Buns). We enjoyed them so much we had to go for seconds!
Lego Store - A must-visit for Lego enthusiasts!
